About Our Fraternity

The dawn of the 1990′s saw Phi Sigma Phi settle into its position as that of a strong and determined new national fraternity. The National Council and Staff of Phi Sigma Phi were determined to chart a course for this new national fraternity where the emphasis was on superior service and support for the membership.

A Network of Alumni

The group of alumni and undergraduate college men who were the driving force behind the formation of Phi Sigma Phi were alumni and former chapter members of Phi Sigma Epsilon who elected not to participate in a merger between Phi Sigma Epsilon and Phi Sigma Kappa in 1985. Today, our alumni live in every state around the nation and in numerous countries around the world! They are doctors, lawyers, political figures, soldiers, religious leaders, teachers, nonprofit managers, and more. Our brothers give back to each other, the fraternity, and to the world around them. To connect with other brothers in Phi Sigma Phi, check out our LinkedIn.

The College Experience

The former Phi Sigma Epsilon chapters and alumni believed in a unique and different fraternity experience. Their dedication and vision live today in Phi Sigma Phi brothers who perpetuate our great National Fraternity.

"Being in Phi Sigma Phi really helped me to connect with people from all walks of life. The fraternity helped me learn how to connect with people, and I was not very good at before I joined. One feature of my job is to connect with people on an emotional and spiritual level so that I can gather the best history possible and make an accurate diagnosis. The fraternity system really strengthens this and I know that Phi Sigma Phi at WVU did an amazing job at connecting me to people and honing my social skills. I highly recommend joining a fraternity if you struggle in this especially at Phi Sigma Phi."

"The Chapter taught me a lot of the interpersonal social skills necessary to be in a career in education. My experiences in the fraternity have helped me to interact with parents and recruit for my performance ensembles and meet some pretty awesome people...It is not how much you do, it is how well."

"It is vitally important to help a brother when in need. Not only that, but to pay it forward in the future by helping someone else when they’re in need. Everyone, somewhere in their life, will need the help from others, and sometimes they won’t ask for it. Therefore, it becomes important to self-police each other, recognize when someone needs help, and help them in any way that you can, even if they don’t ask for it. There is no gesture too small, so do what you can for who you can."

Last week National Council came together for the first in-person Winter Board Meeting in several years. The National Council was hard at work and over the course of the weekend spent almost 20 hours in session deliberating over the strategic plan and future direction of Phi Sigma Phi.
As a Council we accomplished a lot of our meeting goals and set clear expectations for 2023 for us and the organization. We are very excited to begin rolling out our projects for 2023 very soon.

This time of year, we are reminded of those many blessings in our lives - among which family, friends, and fraternity are some of the most dear. As this year comes to a close and we have a chance to begin anew, take a moment to share kindness with someone who needs lifting up, love for a friend, and hope for an even brighter tomorrow. Remember, this season is here to remind us to give to others and think less of ourselves. #merrychristmas #happyholidays #dogoodthings #phisigmaphi ... See MoreSee Less
